DAY 1 Join tour in bahia solano

Arrive in the morning, where a local driver will be waiting for you just outside the airport. From here, enjoy a scenic transfer along the Pacific coast as you make your way to your eco lodge.
After approximately 40 minutes, you will arrive at El Almejal, where you will be warmly welcomed by the lodge manager. A brief orientation will introduce you to the experience ahead before you are shown to your room.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to unwind after the journey, take a walk along the beach, explore the surroundings, or simply relax and settle into the rhythm of Colombia’s wild Pacific coast.

DAY 2 Pacific Colombia Whale Watching Day in Bahia Solano

After breakfast, and depending on tide and weather conditions, set out on foot toward the departure point. From here, board a small boat and head into the Pacific in search of humpback whales.
As you navigate the open waters at a respectful distance, watch for the telltale blows rising above the surface, followed by glimpses of powerful backs and sweeping tails. With a bit of luck, you may witness playful behaviors and even spectacular breaches.

Return in the afternoon and enjoy free time to relax on the beach just steps from your eco lodge, soaking in the calm and beauty of Colombia’s wild Pacific coast.

DAY 3 Hiking Across the Nature Reserve

After breakfast, set out on a guided walk through the natural reserve surrounding Bahia Solano. The trail leads first to a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Pacific, before continuing along well-maintained stone paths into the heart of the lush tropical rainforest.

As you walk beneath the dense canopy, your guide will share fascinating insights into the plants, their unique adaptations, and the delicate balance of this ecosystem. With a bit of luck, you may spot remarkable species such as the colorful harlequin frog or the elusive glass frog, hidden among the vegetation.

Return around midday for lunch, followed by a free afternoon to enjoy the beach, swim in the ocean, or simply relax and take in the rhythm of Colombia’s wild Pacific coast.

Note: Local experiences will be coordinated with the ecolodge team according to weather conditions, tides, and guests’ preferences. The suggested timings in the itinerary are flexible and may be adjusted to better suit each traveller and the surrounding conditions.

DAY 4 Day Trip to Utría National Natural Park

Set out on foot toward the pier, where a boat awaits to take you along Colombia’s wild Pacific coastline. After approximately 40 minutes navigating the shore, you will arrive at Parque Nacional Natural Ensenada de Utría, one of the most beautiful and biodiverse areas in the country.

Upon arrival, a park ranger will introduce you to this protected ecosystem before you begin exploring. Your guide will then lead you through the mangrove forest along a scenic wooden boardwalk stretching over a kilometer, where you may spot crabs, birds, and fish thriving in this unique habitat.

The experience continues at a stunning white-sand beach with crystal-clear waters, the perfect place to enjoy lunch and take a refreshing swim.
Return to your eco lodge in the afternoon, carrying with you the essence of Colombia’s untouched Pacific coast.
