DAY 1 Arrive in Nuqui. Transfer to Ecolodge

Take a morning flight to Nuquí, a unique destination on Colombia’s Pacific coast, where lush jungle meets the ocean, creating an extraordinary setting and a prime location for whale watching. Its calm waters and untouched beaches provide the perfect conditions for these majestic creatures to give birth, offering a truly remarkable natural spectacle.

Upon arrival at Nuquí airport, you will be welcomed by a local guide and transferred by boat to your ecolodge. You will be greeted with a welcome drink, followed by check-in and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy a peaceful canoe visit through the mangroves at a relaxed pace, gliding along calm waterways surrounded by lush vegetation and the region’s unique ecosystem. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to observe local wildlife and take in the tranquil beauty of this natural habitat, followed by time to relax on the beach.

Later in the day, you can unwind, take in the surroundings, and end the evening with dinner at the ecolodge before resting in anticipation of the exciting adventures awaiting you the next day.

DAY 2 Whale watching Expedition

After breakfast, we will take a boat excursion for whale watching, including a visit to the Parque Nacional Natural Ensenada de Utría. The activity will take place along the Pacific coast, where these giants of the sea arrive each year, between July and October, during their journey from Antarctica. The warm waters offer the perfect conditions for mating and giving birth to their calves.

A magical and unforgettable natural spectacle that we will experience throughout the day, as the whales come to mate, give birth to their young, and teach them how to swim. A sighting is considered successful if you observe at least one of the following: tails, backs, fins, or breaches.

At midday, we will enjoy a picnic style lunch on the beach, surrounded by this beautiful landscape. After the excursion, we will return to the ecolodge, where you will have time to relax on the beach and enjoy the surrounding scenery.

DAY 3 Hot Springs, Waterfall & Farewell Dinner at the Ecolodge

In the morning, departing from the ecolodge, you will visit natural hot springs and a nearby waterfall, where you can relax in warm mineral waters surrounded by lush rainforest and enjoy the refreshing experience of the cascading falls. This experience offers a perfect connection with nature in a peaceful and scenic setting.

In the afternoon, you will have free time to relax, enjoy the surroundings, or unwind at your own pace. In the evening, you will enjoy a special farewell dinner at the ecolodge.

Note: Local experiences will be coordinated with the ecolodge team according to weather conditions, tides, and guests’ preferences. The suggested timings in the itinerary are flexible and may be adjusted to better suit each traveller and the surrounding conditions.

DAY 4 End of the tour

This incredible adventure comes to an end today. At the scheduled time, we will take a boat back and then transfer to the airport.

Ecolodge Madre Tierra

Located in Nuquí, this ecolodge offers an intimate experience where tropical rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean. Its rustic-style cabins feature private bathrooms, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, natural ventilation or air conditioning in selected units, and terraces or balconies with views of the sea or the garden.

The lodge offers a restaurant serving local cuisine, direct beach access, relaxation areas, a terrace, and a strong connection with nature in a peaceful and secluded setting, ideal for unwinding and relaxing.
