An up-close look at Colombian coffee!
During this exciting Colombia Coffee Region tour, stay at a quaint coffee farm that will make you feel you are stepping back in time. You will get a hands-on lesson about the whole Colombian coffee production process on a coffee tour led by a local expert. If that's not cool enough, the whole experience will take place in Colombia's Coffee Region, an area adorned by astonishing mountains, friendly people, coffee plantations and valleys declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
You will also travel to Salento, Colombia, one of the most traditional Paisa towns in the area. Enjoy colourful, colonial buildings and squares where you can pass the day people watching while sipping on Colombian coffee. Visiting the breathtaking Valle de Cocora is also part of this Coffee Region tour. Valle de Cocora is a spectacular natural park home to a high diversity of fauna and flora, including the Palma de Cera, Colombia's national tree and tallest species of palm tree in the world. This tour in Colombia is one of the most authentic experiences you can have because coffee is such an important element to Colombian culture and commerce. EXPERIENCE TYPE Eco-tourism & Local Traditions
You will take a morning flight to one of the main cities in the coffee region. Upon arrival, we will meet you at the airport to take you to the hacienda where you will have some time for lunch and get ready for our coffee experience tour in the afternoon. During the coffee experience in the hacienda's coffee plantation, we will learn the details of each step from planting the coffee beans all the way through the picking and roasting process. We will learn how to select and pick only the ripe coffee cherries and also how to taste and evaluate the coffee's quality, just like an expert coffee taster.

Today we will take a day trip to the Valle de Cocora (Valley of Cocora) Natural Park and Salento. The cloud forest at Valle de Cocora is a prime example of the amazing diversity of fauna and flora characteristic of Colombia's coffee region. While trekking across the valley, surrounded by the famous and unique palmas de cera (wax palms), we will hear stories about this amazing place and its meaning for the native tribes that inhabited the area before the Europeans came to America.
We will have lunch at the park rangers' base before continuing our trip to Salento.
Salento is a traditional and picturesque paisa town, where the colours of the houses and the colonial architecture blend themselves with the surrounding natural beauty of the region and the smell of freshly roasted coffee. Salento is a perfect place for a gentle stroll or for enjoying a delicious cup of Colombian coffee. Late in the afternoon we will go back to the hacienda.

Today, you can still spend a bit more time at the hacienda or exploring any other part of the coffee region. At the requested time, we will pick you up at the hacienda to take you to the airport.

Coffee Hacienda: Set in a colourful, historic farmhouse from 1887, this coffee hacienda offers free Wi-Fi and panoramic views of the landscape from the outdoor pool. Guests can relax in the sauna and hydro-massage tub, or lounge in large deck chairs on the sun terrace. The hacienda was built in the middle of a coffee plantation and offers the perfect mix of Colombian culture and tranquillity.
